Why we still draw the first sketches by hand
Before any software, a notebook, a pen and a few hours on site. What the hand teaches the project.
Every project starts with a site visit and drawings made on the spot. The line is slow and imprecise, and that is exactly the point: it forces you to choose what you look at.
These sketches are not presentation images. They stay in the notebook, and yet they decide a lot. Villa MH turned towards the garden on the very first page.
The digital model comes later, when the question is no longer “what” but “how”.
